Recognizable by its unique wing markings, the butterfly features bold black and white patterns that resemble the number \"88\" on the underside of its hindwings, giving it its common name. The forewings are dark brown with subtle orange or red markings, while the hindwings are predominantly white with black spots and the distinctive \"88\" shape. The contrast between the black, white, and orange colors makes it one of the more visually appealing butterflies in its region. Its wingspan ranges from 40 to 50 mm, making it a medium-sized butterfly.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eThe White-patched Eighty-eight is typically found in the humid, shaded areas of tropical forests, often near riverbanks and clearings.
